The Vampire Diaries is going to be made into a movie!

According to Julie Plec, one of the series' authors, there is the possibility of producing a film about The Vampire Diaries. The allegation happened during the panel on the last day of the “I Was Feeling Festive in Mystic Falls” convention, which took place on December 1st, 2nd and 3rd, in Covington, Georgia.

When asked by Matthew Davis, Alaric Saltzman's interpreter, whether there will be a The Vampire Diaries film, Julie responds: “Apparently it's someone's desire to do this” [the film], and adds: “it's a conversation that exists somewhere place. That’s all I know”, concludes Plec. Although it didn't make anything clear, the producer said that there are “negotiations and budgets” underway. In addition to Julie, the event featured other actors from the Universe of The Vampire Diaries, consisting of The Vampire Diaries (2009 – 2017), The Originals (2013 – 2018) and Legacies (2018 – 2022).
